NewsHaving just returned from yet another amazing adventure in Rwanda I am almost tempted to include this 4 night extension on every safari itinerary!... |
The Indian Ocean Coast and IslandsThese areas are incomparable in their romanticism. Azure blue waters lap at white sand beaches with corals protected by marine sanctuaries idyllic for snorkelling or diving from countless locations remote or bustling. The Spice Isle of ZanzibarThe island has a history dating back centuries with a historic port whose activity bustles with energy as huge ocean going Dhows slip quietly back into port returning from plying their wares up and down the mainland coastline. Beach life could not be better with choices ranging from quiet self contained privately owned historic houses to Private Islands exclusively situated off the main coast of Zanzibar with every possible level in between. Mafia IslandA lesser known island with the exquisite marine park boasts one of the few non bleached coral eco systems along this part of the Indian Ocean has great diving and snorkelling and a small selection of quality hotels/lodges to choose from. Pemba IslandPemba is the home of the only live aboard dive operation in Tanzania able to provide the serious diver with rare opportunities to explore Pemba itself and the outlying reef systems not normally visited. Pembe Abwe is the retreat of Jo and Gary Strand, nestled in the middle of a private bay south of the old slave port of Pangani. 3 metres from the waters edge, Pembe Abwe is Robinson Crusoe for guests wishing to be totally secluded in a self catering location. |
