Since the late 80’s Wildlife Explorer has been working hand in hand with local communities, creating totally exclusive wildlife reserves to set our camps and safari by vehicle or on foot.

Each Wilderness Camp is set in its own private wildlife sanctuary, with access to unrivalled game viewing and wilderness experiences.
The development of our “Wilderness Camps” has utilised many different styles, whilst still maintaining the core feel of a traditional camp. Our intention has always been more about developing a unique experience in the wilderness, rather than trying to create an inappropriate lodge.
The welcome to camp is stylish and elegant, with a glass of chilled champagne (or juice) and a friendly ‘karibu’ to life in the wilderness!
There are thatched or tented pavilions for dining and relaxing in, where uniformed waiters bring mouth watering breakfast, lunch and suppers, all designed at Olerai under the careful eye of Jo Strand. There is also an in house reference library, comfortable cushioned sofas and un-interrupted views across Africa’s stunning game studded landscapes.
Positioned to make the best use of uninterrupted views from the comfort of king-size or extra long twin beds, the accommodation tents exude warmth and welcome, with raw earthy colours in the fabrics and furnishings, en-suite bathrooms and shady verandas.
But most importantly The Wilderness Camps at Osunyai & The Alamana Reserve represent complete freedom, away from absolutely everyone, other than the wild game in each reserve. Simply freedom in the Wilderness!
