Traditional Mobile Tented Camps
An era close to extinction, the days of heavy canvas hunting camps set for the likes of Roosevelt and Dinnesen, were almost over, until Photographic Safaris gained popularity.
Our Luxury Mobile Tented Camps are tasteful, extremely comfortable and above all mobile, allowing us complete freedom to follow the movement of the great migratory herds.
Taken from the designs of old, we have modified and improved on the original style of Camps, creating what we believe to be the finest mobile camp available
We are extremely proud to have the ‘new for 2008’, 10 tent ‘bay’ fully operational for all of our mobile safaris. The tents, which have been custom designed and built for us, offer the very highest level of comfort and mobility. Following on from our pursuit of the ultimate tented accommodation for our other styles of camps, we have incorporated a number of new ideas and designs that allow more freedom of placement and greater user comfort.
New furniture, new layout and now full led and energy saving light technology for overhead, bedside, toilet and shower illumination, make those early morning wake up calls even more enjoyable!
Each accommodation tent has its own individual solar system, allowing our crews much greater flexibility to place each and every tent in a stunning position.
The bathrooms remain en-suite, however the shower (accessible from the rear of the tent) now enjoys an ‘open air’ feel to really take advantage of the impressive night skies!
All tents are en-suite with Queen or twin bedded sleeping arrangements, silver service dining and of course Wildlife Explorer’s renowned well-balanced menus served al Fresco under the African stars or in the candlelit-dining tent.
Mobile Tented Camps are where we started and still form the backbone of our operation, regarded by many as being the true essence of safari. Our company philosophy is to protect and preserve the environment. This philosophy is carried through all elements of our camps with continued research, development and application of ‘green’ operating standards.
‘To sleep under canvas is to safari what Tonic is to Gin!
